Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gas Engineer Supervisor to join our team at PPM Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and providing technical support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver gas appliance and boiler maintenance services to commercial and domestic properties.
  • Supervise staff and provide technical support to resolve issues and communicate solutions to engineers, office staff, and customers.
  • Resolve issues raised by on-call engineers and provide technical support for onsite engineers and office staff.
  • Carry out site inspections, post-work inspections, engineers' meetings, toolbox talks, tool audits, van audits, and staff inductions.
  • Attend service and reactive breakdowns to fault find, diagnose, and repair in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Provide high-level first-time fix and customer care using knowledge and boiler fault-finding experience.
  • Carry out day-to-day responsive maintenance, service, and repairs as instructed.
  • Carry out servicing and safety checks on all heating systems and identify any necessary works required to ensure compliance with current gas/oil safety regulations.
  • Attend to boiler/system breakdowns, inspect, and identify all works required to ensure heating systems are functioning correctly.
  • Make immediate decisions regarding repair requirements and inform the relevant director.
  • Inform tenants (with reason) when it is not possible to complete a repair within the first visit and make mutually agreed arrangements to return and complete.
  • Ensure all items of tenant's furnishings are protected at all times.
  • Liaise with management and/or clients to ensure all works are completed.
  • Ensure all works and repairs are completed safely and in accordance with current codes and practices.
  • Abide by all client rules and regulations while on site.
  • Ensure a 'best value and cost-effective approach' is sought when purchasing materials.
  • Ensure all training required to carry out the role is maintained and kept up to date.
  • Accurately complete all relevant documentation associated with duties and ensure the prompt return to the office of all relevant information.
  • Use company vehicles in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all company property is operated safely, kept clean, and in good order, and tested when required.
  • Actively take a proactive approach in finding and quoting additional works, as required.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, handbook, and Health & Safety.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience as a lead engineer.
  • Recognised gas apprenticeship and Commercial gas certificates ACS - CCN1, CEN1, HTR1, WAT1, CKR1, CPA1.
  • Gas experience within the commercial sector, including analysing, fault finding, service, repair, and maintenance on gas/heating installations and appliances.
  • Working knowledge of test equipment, including an electrical multi-meter.
  • Flexible approach due to travel aspect, with the ability to work additional hours over and above contracted hours if and when required.
  • Be part of the emergency call-out team on a rota basis.
  • Promote a positive and professional attitude to all customers and staff.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative as well as within a team.
  • Willing to undertake further training/development within the post as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with tenants and other members of the public.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Basic IT Skills.
  • Must have had or willing to have all Covid vaccinations.
