Position Summary:

The Tax & Financial Accounting team operates on a global scale, tasked with the preparation and submission of both direct and indirect tax filings, statutory accounts, and treasury back-office functions. This role is pivotal in ensuring that we maintain a high standard of service delivery while adhering to established timelines.

Compliance with company policies is essential, and you will be expected to execute your responsibilities within designated timeframes while providing exceptional service to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the accounting and reconciliation processes for share schemes.
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with both UK and international regulations.
  • Compile and submit EC Sales lists.
  • Address all relevant inquiries promptly.
  • Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare the annual PSA return.
  • Review total tax contributions for both direct and indirect taxes.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of corporation tax and withholding tax returns.
  • Perform detailed analyses of general ledger codes for tax return purposes.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of certificates of residence from tax authorities.
  • Draft statutory accounts, accompanied by clear and organized working files.
  • Assist with iXBRL tagging of statutory accounts.
  • Support the posting, reporting, and other activities related to dormant and non-trading entities.
  • Prepare and review National Statistic returns.
  • Oversee the work of Assistant Accountants as necessary.
  • Contribute to daily and monthly treasury back-office operations.
  • Monitor team inboxes and respond to inquiries regarding VAT, financial compliance, and withholding tax in a timely manner.
  • Participate in system testing for VAT rule changes and assist in establishing new VAT registrations globally.
  • Prepare information for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Engage in ad-hoc project work as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Shared Service Centre processes and their integration into the broader business context.
  • Solid grasp of Tax & Financial Accounting best practices, including people, processes, and technology.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and priorities effectively while delivering high-quality work and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Proven decision-making skills based on available information.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook is essential.
  • Maintain approachability under pressure.
  • Collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in handling various tasks.
  • Proactively address and resolve issues.

Educational Background:

  • Strong academic credentials, preferably with a degree in Accounting.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) is desirable.
