Mentorship Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a 1-2-1 Mentor. As a mentor, you will work closely with children and young people who may have experienced significant barriers to their learning, providing them with the support and guidance they need to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and young people, building trust and rapport through empathy and understanding.
- Work collaboratively with Academies, Devon County Council, parents, and social care organisations to provide tailored mentoring programmes that meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Utilise your creativity and initiative to design and deliver engaging and effective mentoring sessions, incorporating outdoor education and forest school activities where possible.
- Communicate effectively with key partners in education and social care, ensuring seamless collaboration and support for children and young people.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of mentoring programmes, sharing best practices and expertise with colleagues.
Requirements:
- Experience of working successfully with children who present with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and adults.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Enhanced DBS check and driving licence required.
