Job Title: Plant Manager

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall management and operations of the site, ensuring that all resources are utilized efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the site, including staff, customers, and physical assets.
  • Oversee plant operations to ensure production schedules are met and develop strategic plans to optimize production operations, reduce costs, and achieve production targets.
  • Develop and mentor staff to enhance their skills and capabilities through assessments and training.
  • Liaise with customers to maintain strong business relationships and manage site contractors, professional bodies, and legal representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, develop and implement policies for continuous improvement, and monitor quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • Optimize the use of resources, including raw materials, equipment, and manpower, to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Manage and maintain all fixed assets and equipment, advise on project development and implementation, and align local site objectives with overall company goals.
  • Drive forward health and safety initiatives, training, and a positive culture, set the site H&S policy and provisions, and cooperate with colleagues on H&S matters.
  • Set the site environmental policy and provisions, drive forward environmental standards, initiatives, training, and adopt a positive culture, and avoid pollution and report incidents to regulatory authorities.
  • Set the site quality policy and provisions, drive forward the quality standard, initiatives, training, and adopt a positive culture, and minimize defects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent in a scientific discipline.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within manufacturing, preferably in the chemical sector.
  • Strong understanding of continuous improvement, productivity, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and implement process improvements.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of relevant software and systems such as SAP.
  • Ability to respond to ad hoc situations in a timely manner and multitask and manage multiple projects.
