About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Business Partner to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a key member of our operational team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with operational teams to develop and implement effective health and safety strategies and plans.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health and safety matters, including risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate health and safety risks, and to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Provide training and support to operational teams on health and safety matters, including hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and best practices, and ensure that our policies and procedures are aligned with these.
Requirements
  • A recognized NEBOSH qualification and professional status.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a health and safety role, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
