About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Greenacre School, a leading special education school in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. As a Grade 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal development of children with severe and complex learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in preparing lessons and maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment
  • Support children with reading, visual learning, and messy play activities
  • Provide individualized support to students who require extra help
  • Complete pupil record plans and contribute to their progress
Requirements
  • Interest in working with children with Special Education Needs (SEN) and/or SEMH needs
  • Understanding or experience of working with children with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Willingness to undertake Maths and English qualifications within a specified timeframe
