Our client, a local authority in Lancashire, is seeking a highly skilled Portfolio & PMO Lead to join their team on a contract basis.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and implementation of the council's strategic change portfolio programme, leading on all aspects of the Portfolio Office and Centre of Excellence delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the recruitment, development, line management, and retention of the team.
- Lead the establishment and delivery of hub and spoke sub-PMOs in support of Portfolio Managers and/or Strategic Programme Managers.
- Lead the development and implementation of terms of reference for the Portfolio Office and Centre of Excellence.
- Provide technical support and advice to the Head of Change in prioritizing, constructing, approving, and tracking the Change Portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in a similar role for a local authority.
- An excellent understanding of hub and spoke models.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills.
- Prior experience in setting up and developing PMOs and Centres of Excellence.
The successful candidate will receive:
- A competitive daily rate of £500+ per day, negotiable based on experience.
- Hybrid working arrangements.
- A contract type of contract.
- Hours of work: 09:00 - 17:00, Monday to Friday.
