We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team at the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles, including ambulances and specialist equipment.
  • Work independently to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve high standards of fleet maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Participate in the implementation of modification projects and assist in the development of new procedures and processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in vehicle electrical systems, including modern electronic management systems.
  • Use computer-based diagnostic equipment to record and analyze vehicle data.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new technologies and processes to improve fleet efficiency and safety.
Requirements
  • Recognized apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, with relevant post-apprenticeship training or equivalent experience.
  • Current driving license, valid in the UK, covering vehicles of category C1 with no more than 3 points.
  • Extensive experience in the repair and maintenance of petrol and diesel vehicles, with the ability to work unsupervised on a diverse and specialized fleet.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, including modern electronic management systems, and computer-based diagnostic equipment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to complete documentation in line with Trust policies and current legislation.
