Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to work alongside a pupil with Sensory Processing Disorder at a Welsh medium primary school in Aberdare. The role will involve providing 1:1 support to the pupil, assisting the teacher in delivering successful lessons, and building professional relationships with other staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the teacher in delivering successful lessons and supporting the pupil's academic and personal development
  • Provide 1:1 support to the pupil, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Work with pupils in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with other staff members, including teachers and support staff
  • Be a role model to all pupils, promoting good behavior and a positive attitude towards learning

Requirements

  • Fluent Welsh speaker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS check (essential) and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
  • Experience of working in an SEN or education setting, with a strong understanding of the needs of pupils with sensory processing disorders
