About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Valuation Manager to join our Strategic Property Department at Powys County Council. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of our property valuation service and the effective management of our land and property portfolios.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the delivery of the property valuation service, ensuring compliance with RICS Red Book and CIPFA best practice.
• Provide strategic valuation advice to senior management and elected members, contributing to informed decision-making.
• Lead on Council valuation and regeneration/re-development matters, including the preparation and reviewing of Asset Valuations.
• Maximise capital and revenue income by optimising the estate through the implementation of the corporate rationalisation programme.
• Contribute to the commercial and transactional sections of the estates practice, ensuring value for money on the use of the council's property assets.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in property valuation and management, with a strong understanding of RICS Red Book and CIPFA best practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to workload and priorities.
