Design Leadership Opportunity
As a Design Project Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the management, coordination, and execution of clean water design projects, with the possibility of working on wastewater projects as required.
- Take the lead in managing MEICA & Civil design projects throughout the outline design, detailed design, and construction support stages.
- Directly manage a team of multidisciplinary design engineers to produce design outputs that meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Manage external design resources as needed to ensure project success.
- Develop and agree on fee proposals, programs, and resource management to ensure the design team delivers in line with financial approvals and project timelines.
- Establish and manage project programs to ensure client expectations are met.
- Conduct site visits as required to gather information necessary for design development.
- Ensure all design work is developed, produced, and approved in accordance with the company's QA procedures.
- Review, audit, and approve technical reports, appraisals, designs, and drawings to ensure compliance with client health and safety standards, while meeting legal and environmental obligations.
- Organize and chair workshops and regular design meetings to review design proposals and progress, and discuss issues such as buildability, commissioning, HAZOPs, Control Philosophy, and URS reviews.
- Support project managers and directors within the business.
- Stay up-to-date with technical and HSQE matters, and be aware of policy and developments in these areas.
- Maintain design input throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility to construction and handover.
- Experience in a similar design leadership role, preferably in clean water.
- BTEC HNC/HND in an engineering field as a minimum.
- EUSR water hygiene card (desirable).
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Degree in an engineering field (desirable).
- Strong AutoCAD design skills will be advantageous.
