We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Older Age Liaison Mental Health Service, you will play a vital role in providing leadership and senior medical input to our team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultant psychiatrist input to the Older Age Liaison Service, ensuring safe and effective care and treatment for patients.
- Act as Responsible Clinician for patients over the age of 65 detained under the Mental Health Act, providing expert guidance and support.
- Provide cross-cover with consultant colleagues as required, participating in a reciprocal arrangement to ensure seamless care.
- Offer specialist advice, consultation, and training to Primary Care, Secondary Mental Health Care, and Acute Teaching Hospitals, promoting evidence-based practice.
- Liaise with colleagues to provide patient-centered care, effective joint working, and risk management, ensuring a collaborative approach to care.
- Be actively involved in departmental and team governance, including audit, to drive quality improvement and excellence.
- Participate in peer appraisal, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), appraisal, and job planning, ensuring ongoing professional growth and development.
- Provide supervision and training to junior medical staff, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Participate actively in undergraduate teaching, contributing to the education and training of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
- Participate in continuing professional development according to Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines, ensuring ongoing professional growth and development.
- Complete all relevant clinical administration associated with this post, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
