Job Description

**Job Summary**

The Transport Support Clerk will provide administrative support to the Transport Department, reporting to the Transport Shift Manager. This role involves general administration tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the transport department.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • **Briefing and Debriefing Drivers**: Ensure accurate and timely briefing and debriefing of drivers, including providing necessary information and documentation.
  • **Administrative Tasks**: Perform administrative tasks, such as checking timesheets, ensuring paperwork is correct and alphabetized, and checking driver's wallets for any necessary information.
  • **Dispatch and Logistics**: Assist with dispatching loads, printing despatch notes, and replenishing despatch paper as required. Ensure all Estimated Time of Arrivals (ETAs) are communicated.
  • **Data Entry and Management**: Update spreadsheets, including trailer change overs, run summaries, and trailer check sheets. Departing loads using the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and inputting all loads that have departed.
  • **Reporting and Communication**: Report any overspill and complete all relevant paperwork. Ensure all uplifts are dispatched in correct loads.

**Requirements**

  • **Attention to Detail**: Possess attention to detail and accuracy, with a conscientious and reliable approach to work.
  • **Independence**: Able to work without direct supervision, with an adaptable approach to work and training.
  • **Communication Skills**: Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • **Prioritization**: Effectively prioritize workload to meet set deadlines, with computer literacy in MS Office applications.
  • **Teamwork**: Able to work as part of a team or individually, with the ability to work effectively and communicate to the correct level.
  • **Previous Experience**: Previous experience in a similar role within a major distribution operation.
