Join Our Team as a Childcare Support Specialist
Essex County Council is expanding its residential services and is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team. In this role, you will be part of a newly established short-term care facility designed for young individuals aged 12-16, where you will assist them in building essential life skills and resilience.
- Deliver compassionate and therapeutic support to children who have faced adversity
- Provide care in a nurturing, family-like environment
- Utilize de-escalation strategies to manage challenging behaviors
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication abilities
No previous experience in a residential setting is required; however, a flexible and open-minded approach is essential. Comprehensive training and ongoing supervision will be provided to ensure your success in this role.
Working Schedule: 37 hours per week, including a combination of early and late shifts, with weekends off on alternating weeks
Interview Procedure: The selection process includes an initial interview to review your application, followed by a second interview at the facility
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must be at least 21 years of age
