The Financial Management department at Bank of China plays a crucial role in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the bank's financial activities. This includes a variety of financial functions, such as accounting and financial reporting, fixed asset and expenses management, budget and management reporting, taxation (indirect and direct), regulatory reporting, treasury (asset and liability management), and capital management.

As an Associate - Accounting, you will be responsible for supporting the department's accounting operations function and assisting with the improvement of accounting processes and controls. You will also collaborate with senior team members to successfully drive and implement procedural changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and take ownership of reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with daily journal entry tasks to maintain up-to-date financial records.
  • Review vouchers and journal entries to identify and address any discrepancies.
  • Support with month-end and year-end accounting tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide ad-hoc support in the delivery of the department's functionality for Head Office, Management, and all Bank of China departments.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or other equivalent fields.
  • Experience in accounting and reporting, with a strong understanding of financial products and services.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior team members.
