Residential Development Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to join our team at Abbatt Property Recruitment. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of residential properties.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage a 6 million service charge budget, with training provided
  • Oversee the development of a 600 unit property, ensuring effective service levels and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Build and maintain relationships with residents, clients, and developers, ensuring all aspects of the development are properly maintained
  • Identify and deliver ongoing training needs to support the team, utilizing internal and external methods and support
  • Monitor and manage performance, setting guidelines and managing holiday/sickness absences
  • Effective cost control and review of expenditure and accounts, including assisting with setting service charges and presenting financial reports
  • Hold proactive customer/contractor and client meetings, ensuring issues are promptly administered and dealt with within agreed timeframes
  • Investigate and respond to complaints, collaborating with the Regional Manager as needed
  • Undertake risk assessments, health and safety checks, and routine testing requirements, ensuring concerns are acted upon and completed within the given timeframe
  • Support the monitoring and supervision of contractors, carrying out works on and around the development
  • Carry out regular inspection audits of the site, taking remedial action as needed to ensure the fabric of the building is maintained and serviced to a high standard
Requirements
  • Previous people manager experience of at least 2 years
  • Budget and service charge accounting experience is desirable but not essential
