We are seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy & Security Senior Specialist to join our team at Sumitomo Electric. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and reviews of projects that handle personal data, ensuring compliance with EU and UK Data Protection Legislation (EU/UK General Data Protection Act, GDPR).
  • Identify and articulate complex compliance risks, data flows, and international data transfers, providing expert advice to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with legal and technology specialists to develop and implement effective data protection strategies.
  • Evaluate and evidence the completion of privacy risk assessments, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in data protection and compliance, with a strong understanding of EU and UK data protection legislation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel within the EU, with valid eligibility to work full-time in the UK.
