About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electronics Engineer to join our client's team in Yateley. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronics for instrumentation and acoustics applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers in the design and development of electronics for instrumentation and acoustics applications.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Director of Engineering to coordinate electronics engineering projects and tasks.
  • Mentor and develop the engineering team to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete project assignments on time and within budget.
  • Participate in risk assessments and mitigate activities to ensure the success of projects.
  • Provide design reviews and technical recommendations to ensure the quality and reliability of electronics designs.
  • Develop and provide technical standards and guidance in all software design and development.
  • Provide technical support to Sales and Manufacturing departments.
Requirements
  • BSc/BEng or equivalent experience in Engineering or a related field.
  • Expertise in analogue and digital circuit design, preferably in an instrumentation development environment.
  • Some experience or knowledge of microcontroller-based circuit design and embedded software is essential.
  • Some experience or knowledge of FPGA-based circuit design is desirable.
  • IPC trained (training can be provided).
  • OrCAD design software or experience with similar tools.

As a Principal Electronics Engineer, you will have a strong background in electronics engineering and a passion for designing and developing innovative solutions. You will be a team player with excellent communication and leadership skills, and a willingness to mentor and develop others.

You will be expected to work independently or as a member of a team contributing to all aspects of the product development cycle from requirement analysis through design and development into production.

You will be expected to produce design documentation and test specifications.
