Job Summary

The Base Manager is a key operational management role, reporting directly to the Business Unit Directors North Sea Energy. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the base, ensuring all staff have the necessary resources to execute their duties effectively.

The Base Manager coordinates and controls daily operations to ensure compliance with contract agreements, relevant regulations, standards, and policies for safe and cost-effective operations.

ResponsibilitiesPlanning
  • Develop and execute business strategies to achieve company goals.
  • Plan and manage budget adherence.
  • Align with other bases and activities to ensure efficient planning and usage of company assets.
  • Ensure all AOC-related activities, such as safety meetings, training, and audits, are performed.
  • Accountable for planning work rosters, training, and annual leave of direct reports.
  • Schedule/roster crew according to requirements and regulations to execute contractual requirements.
  • Define and source manpower needed to run the base.
  • Respect NHV travel guidelines and adhere to them for own and base personnel travel.
Customer Relationship
  • Manage client contracts daily and act as a representative of NHV on site.
  • Analyze and understand client business and needs.
  • Offer solutions to clients while ensuring company profitability and long-term development.
  • Attend client meetings as required.
  • First point of contact on site for clients.
  • Explore commercial leads and report back to the Commercial Department.
  • Attend local industry meetings representing NHV.
Reporting, Profit & Loss
  • Review data and confirm client invoices with Business Control.
  • Approval of supplier invoices and staff expenses.
  • Prepare and present performance review reports of the base and process feedback from EXCOM.
  • Accountable for the P&L of the base.
People Management
  • Lead by example.
  • Support the performance and development process of base personnel to motivate and align with organizational objectives.
  • Cooperate with HQ to provide timely and correct personnel data for accurate decision-making.
  • Manage direct reports and support other departmental managers within the team.
  • Promote team spirit among staff.
  • Carry out disciplinary and grievance meetings as required.
Managing Activities on the Base
  • Manage the base following aviation and company safety standards.
  • Manage crisis situations on site to respond correctly to NHV and client ERP.
  • Coordinate and facilitate administration on site regarding aircraft status, manual updates, and supervision.
  • Supervise correct logging of duty times, flight times, logging sheets, and other required documents.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with HQ Ostend and other parties involved in day-to-day base operations.
  • Responsible for security matters related to operations on site by ensuring the Operations Manual and other directives are known and applied by personnel.
  • Communicate and coordinate with airport authorities.
  • Responsible for managing property contracts, including accommodation rentals, pool cars, and all vehicles on site.
