Job Title: Lead Safety Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Safety Engineer to join our Integrated Sensors & Protection Line of Business. As a key member of our team, you will provide assurance that our products comply with safety, environmental, and legislative requirements across various domains.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on product safety and environmental matters to project and engineering managers.
  • Engage with third parties to review and gather supporting Design Safety and Environmental Evidence Reports.
  • Develop safety and environmental arguments, including functional and physical analyses, and produce Safety and Environmental management documentation.
  • Ensure applicable legislation, regulations, and standards are adhered to for the product in development.
  • Task manage other safety and environmental practitioners in the team.
  • Lead Safety and Environmental Audits.

Requirements:

  • Experience analyzing complex systems from a safety perspective, considering system functions.
  • Broad knowledge and experience of Safety and Environmental Case development for complex systems within an Electronics or Avionics discipline.
  • Experience working with Def Stan 00-051, 00-055, 00-056, IEC 61508 (or similar).
  • Ability to achieve full SC security clearance and access to caveated information.
  • Experience with tools such as DOORS, Adelard ASCE, and Isograph FaultTree+.
  • SSMO (Ship Safety Management Office) or SEMT (Safety and Environmental Management Training) qualified.
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact and manage stakeholders.
