About the Role

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHSFT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biobank and Clinical Trials Laboratory Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Research and Innovation Team, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day management of our Biobank and Trials Laboratory, ensuring compliance with MHRA and HRA legislation guidance and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Biobank and Trials Laboratory, ensuring all required internal and external reports are submitted, including NHS Research Ethics reporting.
  • Provide regular progress reports, briefings, and papers on the progress of the Biobank and laboratory to relevant meetings.
  • Identify areas of risk that may impact on achievement of project objectives and overall performance.
  • Communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, including personnel, both internally and externally.
  • Provide proactive leadership and line-management of the biobank and trials laboratory staff.
  • Act as key point of contact for day-to-day operations of the Biobank and laboratory.

Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Knowledge of HTA legislation and requirements.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations HSE, COSHH.
  • Excellent technical knowledge.
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience of GCP/GLP or other regulatory environments in the workplace.
  • Experience of liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders on all levels.
  • Experience of managing and/or supporting teams.
  • Experience of working in a Biobank/Laboratory environment.
