We are currently seeking a proficient Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles, trailers, and factory transport in accordance with both company standards and external transportation regulations, while strictly adhering to health and safety protocols.

Your role will be crucial in maintaining high levels of productivity, attendance, and customer satisfaction.

This position offers a competitive salary of approximately £46,750 per annum, with weekly payments.

In instances where you may be required to be on standby, an additional payment of £65.84 per week will be provided. Should you be called out during standby, a minimum of 5 hours will be compensated at double time.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a 48-hour work week, structured on a rotating shift basis:

  • Week 1: 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday to Friday, and 6 AM - 2 PM, Saturday
  • Week 2: 6 AM - 3 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Week 3: 9 AM - 6 PM, Monday to Friday

As a Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting inspections, reporting, repairing, and servicing trailers, vehicles, and factory transport.
  • Performing pre-MOT checks in line with DVSA/VOSA standards.
  • Maintaining general cleanliness and organization in the garage.
  • Completing necessary documentation related to the aforementioned tasks.
  • Undertaking any additional duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An industry-recognized qualification, such as City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • An HGV Class C+E driving license.
  • Prior experience in HGV mechanics.
  • Exceptional mechanical diagnostic abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines.

The company provides a range of attractive benefits for this role, including:

  • Holiday entitlement: 20 days, increasing to 22 days after 2 years of service, and 24 days after 5 years.
  • Pension contribution: 5% employee, 3% employer - salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Death in service benefit: three times the annual salary.
