About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join our team at Greene King. As an Apprentice Chef, you will play a vital role in helping us deliver exceptional food and service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Presentation: Prepare, cook, and present food to company specifications, ensuring high-quality dishes that meet our customers' expectations.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic kitchen environment at all times, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with new products, menus, and promotions, ensuring you can provide excellent customer service and recommendations.
  • Company Policies: Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as licensing laws, to ensure compliance and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Be an active participant in team meetings and contribute to discussions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Instruction Following: Carry out instructions as given by management and head office, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt.

Apprenticeship Programme
  • Regular Reviews: Participate in regular reviews with the Apprentice, Line Manager, and Lifetime Trainer to discuss progress and set goals.

  • Essential Skills: Obtain Essential Skills in English and maths (if you don't already have GCSE).

As an Apprentice Chef at Greene King, you will work towards a Welsh Diploma in Food Production and Cooking Level 2 Qualification over the course of 15 months, gaining valuable experience and skills in the hospitality industry.
