Job Title: Press Operator

WL Duffield & Sons Ltd is seeking a skilled Press Operator to join our team at our Yeovil mill. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality compound feed products that meet company and customer standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the intake of bulk materials and ensure accurate designation to appropriate bins.
  • Minimize finished product out-of-stock situations, particularly for main lines.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of minerals and supplements, and notify potential shortages.
  • Ensure correct hand-tipped additives are incorporated, recorded, and completion of production schedules.
  • Monitor the quality of products throughout the manufacturing process, including physical quality of finished products.
  • Ensure finished product bins are completely empty to re-fill and record on production schedules.
  • Perform basic maintenance, including press greasing and lubrication.
  • Adjust pellet mill rollers weekly to ensure efficiency and assist with die/roller changes.
  • Set up recipe press profiles to maintain the highest quality and consistency of feed.
Requirements:
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Ability to prioritize workload.
