Your Role
As a Junior Cost Estimator, you will be instrumental in delivering digital infrastructure throughout the UK by fostering strong, collaborative relationships with our construction partners and teams, ensuring a seamless process and optimal quality in every project. Within our Supply Chain Division, you will assist the broader team in the commercial and contractual oversight of a range of contracts related to fibre construction and maintenance. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Quantity Surveyors and the Area Commercial Manager with the monthly certification of payments to contractors.
- Supporting the evaluation of contractor cost adjustments.
- Helping to assess contractual risks.
- Maintaining up-to-date registers of risks and compensation events.
- Assisting in the review of design modifications.
- Supporting the examination of contract work packages prior to submission to contractors.
- Providing further assistance for internal reporting needs.
- Participating in and contributing to monthly face-to-face team brainstorming sessions.
Qualifications
- A degree in a construction-related field, ideally in Quantity Surveying.
- A strong desire to learn and grow.
- An organized and systematic approach to tasks.
- The ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Basic understanding of construction contracts, preferably NEC.
- Proficient Excel skills.
