About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to students with a range of special educational needs, including autism and social-emotional challenges.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and fellow SEN staff to foster a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere and implement tailored strategies to encourage positive behaviour and active participation in learning activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalised support to students with special educational needs, including autism and social-emotional challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and fellow SEN staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and active participation in learning activities.
  • Assist with behaviour management and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Adapt your approach to meet each student's unique needs, ensuring they feel a sense of belonging and can thrive academically and emotionally.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
  • Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, including physical disabilities, language disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or special education.
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate with families and other professionals.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN strategies and best practices.
