Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Fire Safety Strategies
- Produce and maintain fire safety policies, procedures, and guidance documents to ensure compliance with local and statutory requirements.
- Maintain Fire Safety Records
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records are maintained to meet regulatory requirements.
- Lead Business Continuity and Emergency Planning
- Develop and implement business continuity and emergency planning procedures to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of operations.
- Oversee Safety Culture and Management Systems
- Implement policies and procedures to continually improve the safety culture and management systems, ensuring compliance with all safety legislative requirements.
- Provide Specialist Advice
- Offer expert advice on Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPS) to ensure adequate arrangements and facilities are in place for staff or students requiring assistance during evacuation.
- Conduct Fire Safety Inspections and Audits
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct periodic fire safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in fire safety and emergency planning.
- Qualifications in fire prevention or fire safety, such as a degree or certification.
- Proven experience of working in fire safety and emergency planning, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Ability to interpret and apply fire safety, emergency planning legislation, rules, and standards effectively.
- Experience of carrying out fire risk assessments, including DSEAR and audits.
- Active membership of professional organizations, such as the Institution of Fire Engineers or the Fire Protection Association.
