About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join True Engineers as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, specializing in Mechanical and Electrical Services Design across the built environment.

As a key member of our team, you will be working on high-profile projects, including highly technical data centre designs, and collaborating with leading architects, designers, and contractors.

We are looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality services and a strong ambition to play a significant role in our business.

Responsibilities
  • Take the client's brief and lead the technical fulfillment of projects.
  • Attend project meetings with clients and other design team members, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct condition surveys, feasibility studies, and report writing.
  • Perform site surveys to gather relevant information for scheme design.
  • Develop detailed scheme designs to obtain competitive tenders for the works.
  • Write specifications for the works and correspond with other design team members and clients on technical issues.
  • Carry out calculations, both manual and using computer-based systems.
  • Provide budget costings as required.
  • Attend site progress meetings and monitor contractors' progress.
  • Assist and supervise junior design staff.
  • Focus on low-carbon design and sustainability.
Requirements
  • Building Services Degree, Mechanical Design Degree, or other related higher educational qualification (HNC/HND).
  • Preferably chartered or working towards chartership.
  • Experience in a building services design role in a consultancy environment.
  • Minimum of 5-6 years of experience, including calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Full UK driving license.
