We are excited to present an opportunity for a dedicated individual to become a key member of our Engineering Team as a fully qualified Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician.

As a Vehicle Technician, your primary responsibility will be to uphold the safety and reliability of FedEx Assets by executing maintenance and servicing of our fleet of vehicles and trailers according to scheduled maintenance plans. Your efforts will ensure that our fleet remains safe, compliant, and ready for operational duties.


Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Patterns: Days - Afternoons rotating between 06:00 - 14:30 and 14:00 - 22:30
Compensation: Base pay of £16.83 per hour, with additional premiums for hours worked between 7pm - 10pm (£1.72 per hour) and 10pm - 6am (£2.08 per hour).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete signed service and inspection documentation.
  • Prepare defect reports and associated paperwork to meet legal standards.
  • Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing, ensuring a first-time pass standard.
  • Conduct ad-hoc vehicle repairs, identifying and resolving vehicle issues.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of all tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization, performing any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • Fully qualified with relevant Licenses / Vocational Training (e.g., LGV C&E licence (class one)).
  • City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle maintenance.
  • Proficient in the operation of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting tools.
  • Able to lift and handle Heavy Vehicle Components.
  • Experience in welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting.
  • Must hold a valid driving license.
  • Previous experience in a similar position is preferred.
