The Role Offers

Your Responsibilities
As a trusted and experienced Employment Lawyer/Employee Relations advisor, you will:
- Deliver specialist advice and day-to-day support to the business on all aspects of ER, health & wellbeing, and performance management. Explain options and the associated risks to the business.
- Advise on matters of policy and best practice to ensure application of internal regulations regarding disciplinary, grievance, voluntary severance cases, redundancies, and performance management. Work with line managers to safeguard that a fair process is followed with necessary documents and communication produced.
- Identify and resolve employee complaints; work with line managers and employees to resolve disputes and minimize dissatisfaction; offer or facilitate additional training and development.
- Support the HR team in relation to the management of long-term sickness cases/medical absences; referrals to occupational health.
- Provide ER input in matters under the internal dispute resolution processes. Produce timely and consistently high-quality, written work and sign off documentation and advice from HR, provide feedback, coach, and develop as appropriate.
- Provide stakeholders with information and reports pertaining to the ER activity within their areas of the business, as required.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with external providers to support the implementation of the ER strategy.
Requirements
You are either:
An employment lawyer with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience
OR
An Employee Relations specialist with a background in law (i.e., you either studied law or worked as a lawyer in the past) with at least 7 years of experience.
