Senior Theatre Practitioner - Endoscopy

Nuffield Health is a charity that's building a healthier nation, one day at a time. We're looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner to join our Endoscopy team at Barts Hospital.

About the Role:

We're seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and role modeling within our multidisciplinary team. As a Senior Theatre Practitioner, you'll be responsible for supporting individuals and teams to deliver safe, high-quality, and effective patient care that's responsive to the needs of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to junior staff members.
  2. Act as a role model and lead by example in delivering high-quality patient care.
  3. Support the Endoscopy Manager in leading the theatre team.
  4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective patient care.
  5. Collaborate with consultants, hospital senior leaders, and other healthcare professionals to achieve departmental goals.
  6. Participate in the departmental on-call rota and work flexibly across different shift patterns.

Requirements:

  1. Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  2. Training should include a minimum of ILS.
  3. Experience of managing procedures such as Colonoscopy, OGD's, and Flexi Sig.
  4. Knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures including bronchoscopy, ERCP, EUS.
  5. A minimum of 2 years' experience working in an endoscopy setting is essential.
  6. Accountable for motivating and educating peers within the multidisciplinary team.
