Senior Applied Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Applied Scientist to join our team at Amazon Advertising. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and testing machine learning models to power our contextual advertising solutions.
As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will work closely with software engineering teams to integrate successful experiments into large-scale production systems. You will also promote a culture of experimentation and applied science within the company.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop machine learning models for contextual data processing and classification.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to integrate models into production systems.
- Promote a culture of experimentation and applied science within the company.
- Meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
The Supply Quality organization is responsible for solving optimization problems for ad-programs in Amazon and ensuring high-quality ad-impressions. We develop advanced algorithms and infrastructure systems to optimize performance for our advertisers and publishers.
We are focused on solving a wide variety of problems in computational advertising, including contextual data processing and classification, traffic quality prediction, security forensics, and research, viewability prediction, and brand safety.
Basic Qualifications- PhD in engineering, technology, computer science, machine learning, robotics, operations research, statistics, mathematics, or equivalent quantitative field.
- Experience in applied research.
- Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language.
- Experience building machine learning models for business applications.
- Experience with generative deep learning models and specifically LLM and/or LVM development.
