Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the formulation of estimating data for various bids, negotiations, cost assessments, and financial advice, aiming to optimize net cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with the tender team to ensure the highest quality of data output from the estimating department, focusing on precision, risk evaluation, temporary works, value engineering, health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) considerations, as well as predictability of results.
  • Guarantee that all estimates generated are precise, comprehensive, and optimized, yielding the best value solutions aligned with the approved business objectives.
  • Prepare inquiries for the supply chain and evaluate quotations for compliance and competitiveness.
  • Collect necessary data to create project estimates.
  • Contribute to the internal bill production process for accurate quantity measurements and input into estimating software.
  • Foster strong relationships with site teams to ensure estimates reflect actual operational experiences and incorporate lessons learned, including participation in project reviews to gather data for future strategies.
  • Assist in managing key supply chain relationships to ensure the company secures the most competitive offerings during the tender preparation process, adhering to established project standards.
  • Collaborate with various divisions and subdivisions to effectively integrate team and joint venture pricing strategies, utilizing in-house capabilities for all opportunities.
  • Work alongside the tender team to influence the bid plan and execution timeline.
  • Support the preparation of all necessary financial documentation for the Selection and Pricing Committee.
  • Contribute to the financial structuring of tenders, cost plans, and negotiations to ensure optimal subcontractor, material, plant, and labor estimates, working with the tender team to assess value engineering costs, temporary works, and risk assessments.
  • Engage in the governance process to ensure outputs from the Common Procedures System are accurately represented and presented for approvals at each gateway.
  • In conjunction with the tender team, develop strategies aimed at winning bids and enhancing profitability.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or equivalent.
  • CSCS card holder.
  • Understanding of commercial conditions.
  • Demonstrated successful estimating experience in building projects, including prior experience as a Senior Estimator.
  • Diverse experience in various types of projects.
  • Experience working with both private and public sector clients.
  • Proficient in IT.
  • Experience in the industrial and logistics sectors.
  • Familiarity with secure sector projects.
