Quantity Surveyor Job Description

Role: Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £50-60k depending on previous experience plus package

Location: High Wycombe

Type: Permanent role

Working Style: Hybrid working

Company: Gordon Leak Associates are working with an award-winning Housing company and due to growth are looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage centralised material purchasing and negotiate schedules
  2. Finalise and circulate procurement schedules to wider teams
  3. Set up, update, and manage procurement schedules for each project
  4. Prepare detailed scope of works, measured pricing schedules, and marked up drawings per package of works and issue tenders to sub-contractors
  5. Analyse and negotiate cost implications with relevant parties
  6. Raise sub-contract/supplier orders with contractual paperwork
  7. Track and identify changes to original scopes
  8. Co-ordinate and agree cost implications with relevant parties
  9. Assist the Accounts team by reviewing and responding to sub-contractor payment applications
  10. Undertake sub-contractor procurement tasks
  11. Co-ordinate queries and ensure all works captured within tender documents are added to pricing schedule
  12. Prepare measured pricing schedules and estimates for work
Requirements
  1. 5+ years of Quantity Surveying experience
  2. RICS chartered or in the process of becoming RICS chartered
  3. Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent certification
  4. Residential experience from main contracting or development side
  5. Familiarity with construction contracts, building regulations, and industry standards
  6. Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects
  7. Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  8. Attention to detail and in-depth analysing skills
  9. Strong written and verbal communication skills
