About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Birchwood School in Cardiff.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils with autism and learning disabilities to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality teaching and learning opportunities using a variety of teaching approaches and activities to support pupils to make progress towards their agreed accreditations.
  • Support teachers with the planning, preparation, and assessment of learning opportunities.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of off-site activities.
  • Assist pupils who require help during morning routines, lunch/break times or with personal care.

Requirements

  • Qualification in English & Maths.
  • Ability to relate well to pupils and build positive and respectful relationships that are on a professional level.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Must be able to show initiative.
  • Ability to offer personal care in a respectful way.
