Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Supervisor to join our team at SSEN Transmission. As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction and commissioning of major transmission overhead line works, substations, and/or underground cables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the business during the construction phase of projects, ensuring suppliers carry out works in accordance with contractual requirements and SSEN policies and procedures.
- Measure completed works against the works information for payment purposes and manage compensation events.
- Adhere to SSEN Safety Management Systems, best practice, and the SSE Large Capital Projects Governance processes for all projects.
- Represent the business accordingly and convey the SSE Safety culture.
- Become involved with a project in advance of Gate 3 of the LCP process.
Requirements:
- A working engineering and construction knowledge, including safety and CDM regulations.
- Experience in site supervision or construction at duty holder level of similarly complex works in construction or utilities.
- An understanding of project planning and tracking progress against agreed plans, along with working knowledge of quality requirements and experience in monitoring inspection and test plans.
- Computer literacy or familiarity with computer systems and ideally the ability to use common software such as Microsoft Office packages.
- Good written and oral communication skills, including the capability of representing the project internally and externally.
