Principal Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Structural Engineer to join our team in Manchester, UK. As a senior member of our structural engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality structural input to major projects and programmes across our extensive portfolio of water frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design of water retaining concrete structures, dams/reservoirs, concrete and steel buildings, and site inspections
  • Providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members to help them develop their careers
  • Developing our structural knowledge and capability, and contributing to the growth of our team
  • Collaborating with other disciplines, including civil and geotechnical engineering, and mechanical and electrical engineering

You will report directly to our Specialist Technical Lead and will be key to developing our structural knowledge and capability. This is a brilliant opportunity for you to join a global engineering firm that is rapidly expanding in the UK and Ireland.

About You

We are looking for someone with a broad range of structural and civil engineering experience, and a good knowledge of civil and geotechnical engineering, and an awareness of mechanical and electrical engineering sufficient to enable collaborative working with these other disciplines. You will also have experience of structural engineering software such as Tedds Staad.
PRO, Robot Structures or similar FEM analysis software, and have experience working within a 3D design environment.
