Divisional Valuer Opportunity

ASA Recruitment is seeking an experienced Divisional Valuer to lead the supervision and training of technical staff responsible for the survey and valuation of non-domestic and domestic properties across Fife. This role offers flexibility with a hybrid working model and is available as either full-time or part-time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train technical staff in the survey and valuation of properties.
  • Lead the valuation of complex or unusual properties within your area of responsibility.
  • Defend property values and prepare materials for submission to the Local Taxation Chamber and the Upper Tribunal for Scotland.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including ratepayers and their representatives, regarding valuation matters.
  • Develop and implement training programs for technical staff and maintain your own Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Service Management team and other Divisional Valuers to develop and interpret local valuation schemes.
  • Manage resources effectively to meet statutory deadlines and performance targets.
Requirements:
  • M.R.I.C.S. certification and full professional membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
  • Experience in the valuation of commercial or non-domestic properties.
  • Practical knowledge of legislation and case law governing Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rating.
  • Prior experience working in an Assessor's office or a similar environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficient IT skills and a good understanding of Data Protection principles.
  • A structured approach to complying with R.I.C.S. CPD requirements.
