Empowering Children in Care

We are seeking dedicated individuals to become Independent Visitors, providing a supportive and consistent presence in the lives of children and young people within Local Authority care.

About the Role

As an Independent Visitor, you will be matched with a child or young person and build a lasting friendship through regular, one-to-one activities. This rewarding role requires a commitment of up to 6 hours per month, with full training and ongoing support provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a positive, supportive relationship with your assigned child or young person
  • Engage in regular, one-to-one activities that promote the child's interests and well-being
  • Provide a consistent and reliable presence in the child's life
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure the child's needs are met

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to be:

  • Able to commit to regular, one-to-one activities with your assigned child
  • Willing to undergo training and ongoing support
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to safeguarding policies
