Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records, ensuring compliance with the College's Financial Regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Work closely with the Head of Finance to provide high-quality management information, supporting decision-making and planning processes across the College.
  • Produce timely and accurate management accounts, financial forecasts, and cash flows, including commentary on variance analysis and forecasts.
  • Provide business partnering from finance, ensuring monthly management accounts are shared and understood amongst the management team.
  • Support the day-to-day operational effectiveness of the finance function, including cash, payables, and receivables.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial control measures, reporting, and business processes across the College.
  • Support the Head of Finance in preparing capital and revenue funding bids.
  • Provide a high-quality support service to all departments across the College.
  • To be fully conversant with and implement the College's range of safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all students and staff.

Requirements:

  • Recognised professional accountancy qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
  • Practical experience of financial operations, management, and control, including working capital management, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Ability to identify and communicate the financial implications of decisions or planned actions.
  • High level of computer literacy, including Excel to an advanced level.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision.
