Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and make decisions on complex Residential and BTL mortgage applications while ensuring exceptional service.
- Manage your own caseload effectively, aligning with business priorities and achieving quality targets.
- Adopt a proactive approach to responsible lending, considering applications that may fall outside standard policies when justified.
- Adhere to all regulations regarding Consumer Duty and Financial Crime prevention.
- Continuously develop knowledge of our mortgage products and underwriting criteria.
- Assist intermediary partners with their inquiries and provide support as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in manual underwriting within the specialist mortgage sector.
- Minimum of 2 years holding a specialist lending mandate for both Residential and BTL.
- Strong understanding of various lending types, including Portfolio Buy to Let and self-employed scenarios.
- Familiarity with the regulatory environment and responsible lending practices.
- CeMap qualification or equivalent is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficient in relevant software and credit risk decision systems.
