About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Depot Support Operative to join our team at Nationwide Platforms. As a key member of our depot team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and maintenance functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with drivers to ensure all vehicles are loaded safely and efficiently.
  • Coordinate the preparation and availability of equipment for drivers, as notified on transport planning sheets.
  • Maximize driving hours and vehicle efficiency by ensuring all vehicles and drivers have loads available.
  • Ensure all diesel equipment has tanks filled and chargeable invoicing information is completed daily.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient machine layout to utilize available yard space effectively.
  • Park all equipment after engineers have parked in the designated laydown area.
  • Contribute to planned maintenance activities, including cleaning and painting equipment to meet high standards and within company guidelines.
  • Improve and organize engineers' stores to ensure efficient use of parts in line with our Logistics and Supply Management (LSM) system.
  • Act as an ambassador for Nationwide Platforms, ensuring compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Technical standards and policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer care and maintain a high standard of personal appearance, adhering to company uniform and personal protective equipment guidelines.
  • Support the Location/Workshop Service Manager, Senior Service Engineer, and shift supervisor in the effective running of maintenance operations.
  • Perform general depot maintenance tasks as required.
  • Ensure electric equipment is on charge before and after inspection.
  • Provide on-site support when needed.
  • Utilize our internal mobile application to complete specified tasks planned by the LSM/WSM or SSE.
Requirements
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of powered access equipment.
  • Keen to learn and progress within an engineering environment.
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to work as a team player in a reactive working environment.
  • Full UK Driver's License.
  • Forklift License desirable.
