Youth Development Worker
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Development Worker to join our team in Torbay. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people in our housing environment, enabling them to gain the skills needed to live independently in the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide and update action plans and risk assessments for young people in supported accommodation
• Offer 1-2-1 sessions or support group activities to young people, promoting their personal growth and development
• Enable young people to gain the skills needed to live independently in the community, including budgeting, cooking, and life skills
• Manage your own diary and caseload, ensuring timely and effective support for young people
Requirements:
• A drive to find solutions in supporting young people with a range of backgrounds and needs
• An understanding of young people's needs and interests, allowing for effective action plans to be made
• A passion for providing immediate care and support for young people with safeguarding and emotional and mental health issues
• A resilient and flexible nature when dealing with others, including young people and colleagues
• Ability to work under pressure while producing support plans and meeting deadlines
• Happy to work alone or in a team player environment, with a positive approach and can-do attitude
Working Arrangements:
This role is being offered on a full-time, temporary basis, based in our Bristol office. Working hours are 37 per week, Monday to Friday 9am-8pm, with one weekend in five on a rota basis. An enhanced DBS adult and child check is required for this role due to the nature of the work.
