Job Summary:
Sanderson is seeking a highly skilled Senior Contract Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement and commercial department, you will be responsible for managing the tender process for capital projects, procuring essential work scopes, and developing procurement and commercial strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Tender Management: Manage the tender process for capital projects from issue of invitation to tender through to contract award and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase.
- Procurement: Procure essential work scopes at the lowest cost of ownership and in accordance with the principle of efficiency and best value.
- Commercial Management: Manage commercial staff, negotiate terms and conditions, and ensure ongoing value for money throughout the lifetime of the contract.
- Strategic Development: Develop procurement and commercial strategies in line with the Capital Projects Governance requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrate stakeholder engagement and management skills, influence, lead, and resolve disputes.
- Cost and Forecast Management: Manage cost and forecast via regular cost reporting, ensure change management procedures are adhered to, and manage payment and expenditure.
- Post-Contract Commercial Management: Provide robust post-contract commercial management to support project goals and objectives.
- Safety Management: Comply with all safety policies and procedures, promote safety, and safe working practices.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification and professional membership of a relevant professional body.
- Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge and understanding of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016, commercial governance arrangements, and experience in delivering projects.
- Skills: Estimating, sourcing management, cost and budget management, contract administration, drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, and experience working with NEC/FIDIC Contracts.
