Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to join our team in the UK. As a key member of our leadership team, you will provide strategic legal guidance to support our business growth and expansion. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our commercial contracts, navigating complex regulatory landscapes, and driving compliance initiatives.Main Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal counsel to our Sales Team and broader business, ensuring seamless execution of commercial contracts and agreements.
- Lead contentious matters, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Facilitate the integration of acquired companies and assets, ensuring seamless transition and compliance.
- Advise on new product development, ensuring compliance-by-design and regulatory alignment.
- Manage a range of compliance issues, including data protection and SaaS contracts.
- Deliver internal training to the Sales Team on key concepts in commercial contracts and data protection.
- Ensure Unily's continued compliance with all legal jurisdictions, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Support executive deliverables, including Board Reviews and strategic planning.
- Build and manage a high-performing team of legal professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant legal experience, with a strong background in commercial contracts and compliance.
- Qualified Solicitor in the UK or similar jurisdiction.
- Prior experience with GDPR and SaaS agreements is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across the organization.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
