Design Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Coordinator to join our team in the Midlands. As a Design Coordinator, you will assist the Design Manager in delivering high-quality designs to budget and programme.

• Assist the Design Manager in preparing briefs and remits for design packages and site investigation and survey packages.
• Develop good working relationships with external and internal design and construction teams to deliver integrated designs that are buildable and maintainable.
• Review submissions for quality and compliance with design standards.
• Update design trackers on an ongoing basis.
• Produce minutes and schedules for Design Review Meetings.
• Assist the wider engineering team members as required with engineering input.
• Communicate engineering ideas through sketching and drawing by hand and using CAD software.

• Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office and other design-based software such as AutoCad and ProjectWise.
• HND or Engineering Degree qualified.
• Flexibility and willingness to travel.
• Member of a recognised engineering institution. Incorporated Engineer or Chartered and or working towards membership is desirable.

The Severn Trent Water Capital Delivery Framework for the 7 successful LOT 1 Contractors comprises of a multidisciplinary programme of works covering Clean & Wastewater Treatment and Infrastructure pipelines.

STW has received 'Fast Track' status from OFWAT and are thus 1 of 3 Water Utilities proceeding from 1 April 2020 with their AMP 7 Programme of works.

For LOT1 contractors this will be a share of around £1.5bn over the next 5 years and will continue through AMP8.
