Job Description

**Energy Trading Operations Specialist**

We are seeking a highly skilled Energy Trading Operations Specialist to join our dynamic trading floor team at Discovered MENA. In this pivotal role, you will support our rapidly growing business with key tasks including deal confirmations, trade reconciliation, settlements, and profit and loss calculation.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Daily Trades Reconciliation: Conduct daily reconciliation of trades across various commodity classes, ensuring data accuracy and completeness in our company system.
  • Daily P&L Reporting: Calculate and report daily profit and loss for trading portfolios, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Confirmation and Settlements: Coordinate with counterparties and internal stakeholders to confirm trades and settle transactions promptly.
  • Collateral Management: Monitor and manage collateral requirements for trades, optimizing usage and ensuring compliance with risk management policies.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to enhance back-office processes and systems, contributing to overall efficiency and effectiveness.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a back office or trading operations role within the energy industry.
  • Knowledge of energy trading contracts and pricing mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in PowerBI and Excel; familiarity with programming languages such as Python and VBA is a plus.
  • Experience with trading and risk management systems (ETRM) is preferred.
