About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Renishaw. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating firmware for our range of Laser Calibration products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop firmware for our Laser Calibration products, ensuring high-quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronics engineers and project managers, to define product specifications and optimize system engineering.
  • Develop comprehensive unit and integration tests for firmware to meet high-quality product performance standards.
  • Conduct meticulous design and code reviews for your own work and with junior members of the team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with junior engineers to guide them through complex technical challenges and support their professional development.
Requirements
  • Qualified to degree level in Software Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience working with microcontrollers and low-level protocols.
  • Passionate for developing product firmware with embedded C.
  • Experience in test-driven development / behavioural-driven development to ensure firmware quality.
  • Proficient in using RTOS and multithreaded techniques for embedded applications.
  • Knowledge of tools such as IAR, CLion, Eclipse, MCUExpresso, various Microsoft and Embedded IDEs, Enterprise Architect, and Atlassian suite.
