Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is a leading biotechnology company that specializes in the development of innovative sequencing technologies. We are headquartered at the Oxford Science Park and have a global presence with offices and commercial operations in various locations.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Specialist to join our Quality Assurance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our suppliers meet the required quality standards and comply with our quality management system.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor supplier compliance with quality specifications and contractual arrangements.
- Develop and implement supplier quality management strategies to meet the requirements of ISO 9001/ISO 13485/medical device/CE directives.
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues through containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and verification of effectiveness.
- Implement improvement plans to meet supplier quality and development metrics.
- Collaborate with procurement to ensure quality aspects of supplier selection and development, including capability analysis and supplier quality management.
- Participate in routine supplier qualification, specification/process change control, permits, and CAPA activities with vendors and subcontractors.
- Support business continuity planning for purchased material security.
- Proactively review supplier risks and develop strategies for part and process quality improvement at vendors and subcontractors.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality initiatives, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Education to degree level in a scientific or engineering discipline.
- Previous experience working in a regulated quality management system environment.
- Experience of supplier qualification and performance monitoring.
- Good knowledge of quality tools and techniques.
- Willingness to travel locally and overseas.
- Qualified lead auditor.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of and experience working in an ISO 13485 environment is advantageous.
- Experience working with an ERP system, databases, and reporting software.
- Close attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Good team player with customer focus, demonstrating a sense of urgency to resolve issues as they arise.
- Able to evaluate situations, identify options, and propose effective solutions with rationale quickly and efficiently.
- Highly self-motivated person with excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and negotiation influencing skills.
- Be highly collaborative and able to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
