Job Overview

Campden BRI's Sensory Testing Services play a crucial role in helping food and beverage companies create high-quality products through expert sensory evaluation.

As a Sensory Technologist, you will support the Sensory Project Manager and the descriptive panel with projects and training, ensuring the highest standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Panel Leader in managing descriptive projects, including panel facilitation and training sessions.
  • Coordinate Panel Acuity activities and ensure seamless data collection.
  • Become proficient in using sensory data collection software to analyze and report results.
  • Prepare samples safely and efficiently for panel assessment, adhering to good food hygiene practices.
  • Coordinate sample receipt, purchase, storage, and preparation for panel training and reference samples.
  • Support the panel leader in compiling technical reports, including data analysis and insights.
  • Collaborate with other Sensory Insights teams and projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a sensory science role or laboratory environment.
  • Completion of relevant sensory analysis courses, such as the 'One Day Introduction to Sensory Analysis' and '4 Day Sensory Evaluation Workshop', or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of multiple food categories and their sensory characteristics.
  • Excellent organizational, practical, and panel facilitation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
